Why do we need short-term and long-term goals in business?
Having a business without clear-defined goals is nothing, this should be the first thing that you hold on before creating one.
Having a goal, you will be able to plan ahead of time such as creating short-term goals and eventually long-term business targets. It would also help you on creating action plans where you can gauge if the plan is effective or not, it’s the way to know if you are doing the right thing or wrong things in your business.
Let we say your short-term goal is to have 3 new clients for the first 3 months in your company.
And what you should do about that?
You need to work how you will do it, you need to plan and talk to your team about the short goals that you are thinking about.
Be honest with your staff in relation to your short-term goal. Let them know about your plan and tell them what you are expecting that they will do.
And don’t forget to give something back. When you achieve your goal let just say, one of your short-term goals so it’s time to give back to your team.
You can go out for lunch or dinner and give some gift certificate and bonuses and tell all employees about the good news and credit with your team about the good news let them feel that they are the part of the success.
And second for the long-term goals, what do you want to meet for 3 to 5 years from now?
For the long-term goals of your company, maybe your goal is to have clients or customers and more staffs maybe you’re expecting to have more than 100 staffs.
To meet your long-term goals, keep an eye on your short-term goal.
Plan and always thing plan B because if you fail for plan A you still do the plan B.
