About the Network
Peer programs are central to enhancing student achievement, sense of belonging, and retention — but what happens when we examine the experiences of peer leaders closely?
This interactive Constellation session invites participants to examine a series of short scenarios drawn from diverse peer learning contexts, including PASS, classroom assistants, academic coaching, mentoring, and wellbeing support. These scenarios of real-world experiences that our peer leaders face provide us with a glimpse into some of the challenges, boundaries, and opportunities they encounter in various peer roles. As a group, we’ll discuss ways they could respond to these circumstances, each through our own experiences as students, academics, or professional staff members from our different organisations.
Through guided discussion, we’ll explore the ethical, relational, and pedagogical dimensions of peer work, examining the experience of peers who actually support their peers. Together, we’ll co-create insights into what connects these models and how we can amplify their collective impact across the student experience as reflected through the STARS five pillars of student success.
